I want to buy my daughter a digital piano, what is good and affordable?
I want to get weighted keys, so she will be able to play a real piano also. Is a Fatar Studio 900 any good?
The Fatar (StudioLogic) boards are MIDI controllers. That is, they do not have any built-in sounds.
Fatar is a major supplier to the keyboard manufacturers Their keyboards are very good to excellent in terms of quality, but as a controller you would need an external MIDI module or software synth to create the sound.
Go for something with a built-in furniture type stand and matching bench because the keyboard will be guaranteed to be at the proper height. That's crucial to learning proper technique. For home use, I would look at Yamaha's YPP233, Roland RP101, Casio AP45 ... or any number of others...
Don't be lured by [1] Low price [2] too many features. Get a good basic piano and you'll be well on your way.
